Our Austin wedding: Frank loves playing the guitar, hiking through the hill country, listening to live music, and the smell of creosote. Stacy loves eating chips and hot sauce, tubing down the Guadalupe, buying more books than she has time to read, and watching the purple mountain laurel bloom on her birthday.
Hence the theme of our wedding...neither one of us was born in Austin, but we were born to be Austinites.
Instead of cascading roses and champagne fountains, expect wildflowers and Mexican beer at our wedding celebration. Frank and I will “dress real purty,” but the rest of you should dress for Texas July heat.
The ceremony will be held at our church, Westlake United Methodist, which is nestled in the hill country of Southwest Austin. David Minnich (Frank’s dear friend and the man who baptized Stacy in a waterfall in Honduras) and Judson Lively (Stacy’s grandpa) will lead us in worship. As the sun sets, we hope you will join us at the Zilker Park Clubhouse for an evening picnic on the patio and a breathtaking view of the Austin skyline. One of our best buds, Stuart Adamson, will play his honkytonk repertoire and we’ll try not to break the city sound ordinance before all of the sparklers are lit.
